Food Standards Agency Biannual Public Attitudes Tracker

The latest results from the Food Standards Agency biannual public attitudes tracker shows that concerns about the amount of sugar in food is still a top issue for the public and has increased sense the previous survey.   The top wider food issues of concern were the amount of sugar in food (53%  up 3%), food waste (57%  up 8%), food prices (44% down 2%), animal welfare (50% up 7%) and the amount of salt in food (42%).

Holly Gabriel, Registered Nutritionist at Action on Sugar says: “These latest results survey clearly shows that excessive amounts of sugar in food and drink remains a concern to the public. The newly formed Government needs to act to mandate sugar reduction targets for the food and drink industry to stop the flood of sugar into the food system.”
